500 Global Warming Deniers? Not Really

The fine folks at DeSmogBlog decided to dig a bit deeper into the famed list of “500 Scientists Who Don’t Believe In Global Warming”, and what they found is pretty remarkable. In the first 24 hours since investigating, they’ve already found 45 scientists who didn’t know they were on the list. The comments from the scientists are priceless.

I am horrified to find my name on such a list. I have spent the last 20 years arguing the opposite.

Dr. David Sugden. Professor of Geography, University of Edinburgh

I have NO doubts ..the recent changes in global climate ARE man-induced. I insist that you immediately remove my name from this list since I did not give you permission to put it there.

Dr. Gregory Cutter, Professor, Department of Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences, Old Dominion University

I don’t believe any of my work can be used to support any of the statements listed in the article.

Dr. Robert Whittaker, Professor of Biogeography, University of Oxford

I have to imagine the creators of the list, The Heartland Institute, are being flooded with calls. I’m curious to see what the final tally will look like. I’m even more curious to hear their alibi.

Helix Wind: DNA In Your Backyard

Though I can’t imagine we’ll be seeing massive wind turbines popping up around suburban neighborhoods any time soon, this is an elegant alternative. Helix Wind stands only 14 feet tall and operates with any wind greater than 4.5 mph. It brings 1KW of power for personal use or 2 KW for businesses, which covers about half of your energy needs.

This is hardly the first micro turbine, but its dancing DNA shape allows it to catch air from any direction, keeps it noiseless, and keeps it from slaughtering any birds. According to the inventor, it should payback in fifteen years or less.
